Methodology
Three independent measurements
Welfinz assays every consignment three ways — by design. Two methods agree on grade; the third is the arbitration method if the first two disagree.
Non-destructive screening. ±0.05% precision on Au/Ag, ±0.1% on PGM. Used to triage lots and route to the appropriate melt.
The classical method. ±0.02% precision on Au, certified against LBMA reference standards. Used as the primary arbitration measurement.
Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Trace-element analysis down to ppb. Used for dispute resolution and high-purity verification.
Per-Bar Certificate
What every Welfinz certificate contains
Every bar minted by Welfinz carries a sealed certificate — physically attached to the bar, and digitally signed for verification.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Serial Number | Unique laser-engraved identifier (e.g. WF-AU-2026-00482) |
| Weight | Net fine weight in grams, ±0.05 g |
| Purity | Three-method attested (XRF + fire + ICP-MS) |
| Melt Date | Date the melt cycle was completed |
| Assayer | Named assayer with employee ID, biometric confirmation |
| QR Code | Resolvable at verify.welfinz.com — pulls the full chain of custody |
Independent Re-Assay
Counter-assay welcome
Witness Sampling
Buyers are welcome to witness sampling at our DMCC facility. A dedicated sampling station supports witnessed cut-and-weigh procedures on request.
Sealed Reference Samples
For every lot we mint, a sealed reference sample is retained for seven years. Any later dispute can be re-assayed against the original melt.
